ITINERARY:
We pick you up at your hotel at 5:30 am and then take a taxi to local market nearby the Cai Rang Floating Market – the biggest wholesale floating market in the Mekong Delta. The Cai Rang Market is well known for its variety of fresh fruits and other local products. You can see over hundred boats gather on river and exchange their fresh products that famers have just picked up from their garden on previous day and transfer here, with various vegetables: sweet potato, carrot, pumpkin, cabbages, onion, garlic, watermelon, pineapple… and you also have chance to taste and buy some of this tropical fruits on this floating market, and enjoy daily activities of local people along river bank.
From there, we keep going to home-made rice noodle, made from rice flour and manioc flour.
And then, we will continue to the Phong Dien floating market – another gorgeous floating market where you are free to purchase whatever fruits you would like.
We will go into a very beautiful canal with lots of water coconut 2 sides of river. On the way we can stop at a fruit garden (Hoang Anh orchard) to enjoy local fruit, walk along the countryside path with papaya plantation, milk apple plantation and see how the local grow vegetables.
After that, we get back and stop at Ut Hien Tourism Area where study how to cook Vietnamese dishes and enjoy lunch.
Option: take bikes to ride along quiet, beautiful canals to Gian Gua – a revolutionary landmark of local people. Our trip will continue around the village, you will get a first-hand perspective on local daily life in the rice fields and fruit gardens. (charge: 3USD/pax)
Then we will take the boat back to Ninh Kieu.
