Day o1 : Airport – Ho Chi Minh City
Pick up tourists at the airport; check in hotel in HCM city. We do a short city tour. We visit War Remnants Museum – originally opened in September 1975; it displays old military equipment and other related items from Vietnam War, Notre Dame Cathedral and General Post Office, they are the beautiful examples of architecture from the French colonial period and Thien Hau Lady temple that was built in the early 19th century dedicated to Thien Hau – Goddess of seafarer.
Have dinner and free at night.
Day 02: Cai Be – My Thuan – Sa Dec – Cai Be
After breakfast in hotel, we take the car to Cai Be, we make a short tour there before getting on the cruise, around 11h boarding Le Cochinchine boat. Enjoy welcome drink.
- Le Cochinchine continues sets sails to Cai Thia while lunch is served on boat.
- Embark on a lovely cycling excursion on the bank of the peninsula browsing several verdant villages. Visit of the gardens and orchards, local houses and ample opportunity meet with people and get insight into Delta life.
- Continue our cruise toward Sadec, a nice and quiet town overlooking Mekong river.
- Walks along the village path and get yourself acquaintance with rural activities as farmers farm their fields: rice fields, and vegetable farms, fish farms.
- Visit bricks and tiles kilns and the manufacture of earthenware pots on a bank of river.
- Walks or cycle amongst the ever blossoming Sadec flower village, local industries and Caodai Temple, the local market, following the tracks of French novelist Marguerite Duras.
- Back to our board for a cruise downstream.
- Relax on boat while enjoying a foot massage and sipping an aperitif.
- Dinner and overnight on board
Day 03: Cai Be – Mang Thit – Tra On
- Breakfast on board on the Mekong.
- Visit Binh Hoa Phuoc island and go for walk through the islets, sampling native fruits viewing local handicraft production and meet the local people.
- Transfer to a local boat for an extensive visit of Cai Be: the floating market, the mazes of waterway, local pop-rice and sweets production, the old house,…..
- Le Cochinchine continues its cruise to Co Chien.
- Lunch served on board
- Embark on a pleasant walk or cycling on the foot-paths of the countryside to discover the tropical fruit orchards, the endless rice fields and the local people’s activities.
- Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Open bar and rest on the deck enjoying the sunset.
- The crew will serve dinner while the Le Cochinchine is cruising Mang Thit river.
- Dinner and night on board.
Day 04: Tra On – Can Tho Departure
- Breakfast on board.
- The morning bobbling commotion of Mekong river life comes to life for another lovely day. Our boat sets sails to Cantho through tributaries, canals and arroyos.
- Transfer to Cai Rang by local boat, one of the most bustling floating markets in the whole Mekong Delta.
- Sliding on tiny waterways between palm-shaded banks, the local boat leads you to see green orchards, local houses, ship building yards, rural and river activities in full swing and enjoy tropical fruit. Get back to Ninh Kieu park and take a speed boat to homestay on the other side of Mekong River
- Fishing in Mekong River before dinner, overnight in homestay.
Day 05: Homestay In Can Tho
After having breakfast, we come back to city and check in hotel and visit Ong Temple, a Chinese community hall built in 1895. This Temple has been used for over a century to worship Quan Cong. The temple is a great example of Chinese culture; then we take taxi to My Khanh town to get on the small boat into very beautiful canals, we can do trekking along riverside to have a look at rice-field, fruit garden, papaya plantation. Take the taxi back to city, have lunch.
Around 2:30 pm we will visit the Binh Thuy Ancient House is a combination of Chinese and French architecture, built in 1870. The well-known French film, “L’amant,” was filmed on site at this local treasure and take a boat to come to Son Islet, where you can experience how local people raise fish in Mekong river, and visit fruit gardens with many kinds of fruits. You can learn how to make typical cakes of Mekong Delta. After lunch, we can observe storks gathering naturally. Get back to city and have dinner, free at night.
DAY 06: Can Tho – HCMC or Chau Doc
After breakfast in hotel, we take the private car to HCM or Chau Doc. Ends services!
