Another fascinating experience at the islet is to explore the ancient house system. Tan Loc islet has 12 old houses, but only a few houses are intact. The highlight of this is Mr. Tran Ba The’s house, often called Mr. Sau The. The house built by Mr. Tran Thien Thoai (Long Xuyen) – Tran Ba The’s father and completed in 1935. The house still has a combination of East-West architecture. The walls of the entire house are built by two layers of bricks, creating a cool space. The front of the house was built in a Western style, with rows of roof supports with sophisticated patterns. His house is like a miniature “museum of antiquities”: ceilings with wooden lanterns around the end of the nineteenth century, cement lamps, American oil lamps in the early twentieth century. ; tables, chairs, dishes, delicate carved flowers …
