Mekong Eco Tour has the pleasure to invite you to major touristic attractions during your trips to Mekong Delta, a delta with many beautiful canals, charming floating markets, wild forests, colorful cultures, and friendly people. The Mekong River, which has its origin in the Tibetan highland plateau 2,800 miles away, approaches and empties into the South China sea through a network of distributaries, comprising the large Mekong Delta, the “rice basket’ of Vietnam. Life in Mekong Delta revolves much around the mighty Mekong River.

Many sleepy villages, located on the tiny islands made by thousands of large and small channels, are only accessible by waterways. The villages’ friendly inhabitants cultivate the water rice on their large rice fields and catch fishes front the generous rivers for everyday living; for purchasing things, they do it at one of their colorful floating markets. Cai Be Floating Market and Cai Rang Floating Market are two famous floating markets and crowded of Mekong Delta. When visiting them, you will have not only the most typical experiences of floating markets, but also have the opportunity to feel the real life of local people in Mekong Delta River. This is a very special cultural feature in Mekong Delta, attracting tourists, especially foreign ones. Besides, Mekong Delta have many homestays where an excellent way to experience delta life. Coming here you can join some activities together local people such as: catching fish in a trench, canoeing along canal, cycling trip around the countryside area, cooking rural dishes, etc.

Further west, if you have more time to explore other parts of the delta, you will visit the city of Chau Doc. Here are Vietnamese, Chinese (Hoa) Cham and Khmer live together in harmony in the city and its close surroundings. They have maintained their own culture and tradition which is visible from their looks and clothing and the buildings. Its cultural diversity, visible from the mosques, temples, churches and nearby pilgrimage sites, makes it a fascinating place to explore.

Continue to discover Tra Su cajuput forest, Tram Chim National Park and Ca Mau National Park belonging to the national specialized forest system in the western region in Southern Vietnam. There are important havens for water birds and wild animals. They are ideal destinations for ecological and scientific research tours in the Mekong Delta, thanks to its wonderful diverse wildlife.
